582 The Patent Landscape Analysis of Skin Bioinks for 3D Bioprinting
نویسندگان
چکیده
Three-dimensional (3D) skin bioprinting is an emerging technology that can deposit customised biomaterials with or without desired cell types (i.e. bioinks) in 3D constructs, mimicking the skin. This study aimed to analyse granted patents for bioinks intended from 2017 2022. The were searched international patent databases [WIPO, Google Patent, European Patent Office] using keywords [‘Skin Bioink’, ‘Artificial Skin’, ‘3D Printing’, Skin Bioprinting’, ‘Biological Ink’] and then filtered by application date between exclusion criteria included used prepare artificial non-medicinal uses [engineering robotics], construction of tissues other than unspecified tissues, pending patents, manufacturing methods. selected reviewed all co-authors analysed based on their jurisdiction, publication application, assignees, bioink compositions, additional features, potential applications. In total, our search yielded 550 patents. Of these, 45 analysis. applications filed nine countries, mostly South Korea [n=20] China [n=15]. most common materials a hydrogel composition collagen [n=13] gelatin [n=8]. use vivo [n=24], vitro [n=12], both [n=5]. Given landscape particularly pre-pandemic years, expected rapidly expand near future. Within its limitations, promising innovative approach could be potentially beneficial broad range conditions, including chronic wounds, burns, cancers. prospect, also cosmetics, drug toxicity testing.

Current Status of Bioinks for Micro-Extrusion-Based 3D Bioprinting.
Recent developments in 3D printing technologies and design have been nothing short of spectacular. Parallel to this, development of bioinks has also emerged as an active research area with almost unlimited possibilities. Many bioinks have been developed for various cells types, but bioinks currently used for 3D printing still have challenges and limitations. Bioink development is significant du...
متن کاملApplications of Alginate-Based Bioinks in 3D Bioprinting
Three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting is on the cusp of permitting the direct fabrication of artificial living tissue. Multicellular building blocks (bioinks) are dispensed layer by layer and scaled for the target construct. However, only a few materials are able to fulfill the considerable requirements for suitable bioink formulation, a critical component of efficient 3D bioprinting. Alginate, a ...
متن کاملA comparison of different bioinks for 3D bioprinting of fibrocartilage and hyaline cartilage.
Cartilage is a dense connective tissue with limited self-repair capabilities. Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) laden hydrogels are commonly used for fibrocartilage and articular cartilage tissue engineering, however they typically lack the mechanical integrity for implantation into high load bearing environments. This has led to increased interested in 3D bioprinting of cell laden hydrogel bioinks r...
متن کاملA simple and high-resolution stereolithography-based 3D bioprinting system using visible light crosslinkable bioinks.
Bioprinting is a rapidly developing technique for biofabrication. Because of its high resolution and the ability to print living cells, bioprinting has been widely used in artificial tissue and organ generation as well as microscale living cell deposition. In this paper, we present a low-cost stereolithography-based bioprinting system that uses visible light crosslinkable bioinks. This low-cost...
متن کاملA Mathematical Model on the Resolution of Extrusion Bioprinting for the Development of New Bioinks
Pneumatic extrusion-based bioprinting is a recent and interesting technology that is very useful for biomedical applications. However, many process parameters in the bioprinter need to be fully understood in order to print at an adequate resolution. In this paper, a simple yet accurate mathematical model to predict the printed width of a continuous hydrogel line is proposed, in which the resolu...
